[00:02:28] The first Reddit story we have for this part 2 is from the user ValRavin underscore zoo, posted three months ago. When I was around 11 years old, I had an experience on a small island in Scotland that has stayed with me ever since.

[00:02:56] And I've only told a few people about it. At the time, I wasn't interested in the paranormal or cryptozoology at all. I didn't even really know much about things like Bigfoot or similar creatures. It's only in hindsight that I've tried to make sense of what I saw. I was cycling along a quiet road with my brother and cousins, heading toward one end of the island.

[00:03:22] The landscape was open, low vegetation with scattered gorse bushes. At one point, as we approached a corner, I looked across the fields and noticed something moving. What I saw was a tall, bipedal figure, easily in the range of 8 to 10 feet in height. It was covered in what appeared to be white or very light-colored hair.

[00:03:49] It took a few steps before disappearing completely behind a large gorse bush. The sighting only lasted a few seconds, but it was clear enough to leave a strong impression. I didn't see it re-emerge, and at the time, I didn't fully process what I'd witnessed. I didn't say anything to my brother or cousins, as I knew I'd just get laughed at, especially being the youngest in the group.

[00:04:16] Looking back, I could only describe it as being your stereotypical Bigfoot or Yeti type creature. To this day, over 30 years later, I can still pinpoint the exact spot where it happened, and even looked on Google Maps to see if the details I remember are correct. What makes this harder is that I'm now a zoologist and manage zoos professionally.

[00:04:44] I spend my life working with animals, and I still have no clear explanation for what I saw that day. Over the years, my thinking has shifted. While I remain grounded in science, I've become open to the idea that some cryptid sightings might not be undiscovered animals in the traditional sense. Instead, they could represent something more unusual.

[00:05:10] What some might call ultra-terrestrials, or beings that don't originate from our conventional understanding of the natural world. There's also something about the setting that stands out to me in hindsight. Islands are often described as liminal spaces, thresholds between worlds. And in Celtic and Scottish traditions, certain places are considered thin spaces,

[00:05:37] where the boundary between realities or worlds is less defined. As our understanding of physics, especially quantum theory, and the nature of reality continues to evolve, I find myself in a camp where explanations like this are becoming a more logical explanation of what I saw. Okay, this is a good one to start with,

[00:06:04] because we have a zoologist that is now looking back at this sighting. First off, it looks like a Bigfoot, but apparently it was covered in white or the very light-colored hair, which is definitely a unique characteristic to the Yeti, which is, of course, the Himalayan version of Bigfoot.

[00:06:25] It is rare to see or to have a sighting of a white or light-colored Bigfoot in specifically North America, but it's not out of the question. Those have happened. The real thing that's interesting is that this is Scotland, so it's an island. If there were Bigfoot there, and I haven't looked into it, so definitely on my look-into list at this point,

[00:06:51] it would be really interesting to know the size of a group, because it is a smaller island. It's not small, but it's definitely not as big as North America, where, you know, a lot of Bigfoot do live. So that would be a really interesting thing. And, of course, then we get into the more supernatural theory with Bigfoot specifically.

[00:07:17] And, you know, we can definitely talk about this in a future episode, but it's where you start to lose me a little bit. But I will always be under the camp that Bigfoot is an unidentified species, either a remnant of Gigantopithecus or just an ape that's sort of crossed with a human. I'm not sure.

[00:07:42] But I don't really buy the whole supernatural quantum theory and, you know, them disappearing, them reappearing, or them being with aliens. Maybe I haven't done enough research, and that's on me. And again, maybe we'll do that for a future episode. But it is interesting to think about Scotland and also Ireland, because they do have such a connection with the spiritual realm.

[00:08:09] And they really do believe in these sort of thin spaces where the boundary between the two worlds is thin and pass-buyable. So that would be very interesting to think about, especially if this was never seen again. Maybe it was crossing between timelines or crossing between worlds. But it's a good one to start with. So let's go to another one. So this one is a shorter one.

[00:08:37] And it's from the user Jim Boseth, posted three months ago. Toms River, New Jersey. In my front yard as a child, old enough to not make up fantastical memories for something not as insane as I make it to be. I've had very clear memories of my childhood. So therefore, I know what I saw. Not much to set the scene.

[00:09:04] Brother looked up, pointed at the sky, and yelled, What the F is that? His friends and I all look up and see what I can only describe as a massive bird. It had a long neck, and I can only describe its shape as that of a pterodactyl. It had feathers, though. From what I could tell, to this day, I have absolutely no explanation for what this could have been.

[00:09:32] And my brother is long deceased, so I can't ask him either. Okay, this is another good one. Specifically why? Because it's from my home state. Now, Toms River is closer to the shore and actually is, and don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure, is the county that the Pine Barrens is in. And if it's not, it's like right next to it. South Jersey is not my forte.

[00:10:01] I'm a central and north Jersey. Anyway, central does exist. So, this one's interesting because I actually feel like I have an explanation for it. And I know that sucks. But the explanation is something that we all love. First off, if it wasn't what I think it was, the feathers being on a pterodactyl does definitely stand out.

[00:10:25] Because up until more recently, scientists and archaeologists and paleontologists did discover that dinosaurs most likely were covered in feathers, not reptilian skin like we believed. So, this would be interesting if, you know, they really did see a pterodactyl with feathers on it. But, I think there is a culprit that fits this one. And I hope some of you are thinking of it.

[00:10:54] So, if you are, let's say it together. Ready? Three, two, one. Sand Hill Crane. Now, this is when we started this podcast. It seemed like the explanation for every single cryptid we covered. Including the lizard man of skateboard swamp, which is like, okay, weird. But, in this case, those birds do grow very large.

[00:11:21] So, seeing that in the sky, it could look like a massive creature. But, what's really interesting is that they do have a very long neck and their beaks are very large. So, from below, it really could look like a dinosaur. Specifically because they say it had feathers. If they say it didn't have feathers, then I wouldn't be throwing this out. But, I am like 85% sure that this was the case for this.

[00:11:50] So, sad that it may not have been a pterodactyl. But, fun that the Sand Hill Crane made an appearance in this episode. Because we haven't seen them in a while. So, heck yeah Jersey. Alright, let's go to the next one. This is from the user Radiant Garden. And was posted six years ago. Back when I was around 12 years old, one of my aunts visited from out of state.

[00:12:19] So, my family decided to have a picnic by the lake to celebrate. I was a pretty awkward, anti-social kid around my family. So, I went out to the docks and looked around. Hoping to find Champ, ironically enough. I didn't see Champ. But, I did see something that looked like a giant seahorse. I was about two to three feet in height. And with the eyes the size of grapefruits.

[00:12:47] I'd actually mistaken it for a statue at first. Because, it was that slimy green, grey, yellow color. Things turn after staying underwater for a long time. And it was very still. I went to go grab my family and show them. But, when I came back to the docks. Whatever it was, had vanished. What do you think it was? I've been thinking about it for years.

[00:13:17] But, I haven't come to any satisfactory conclusions. Edit. The eyes, of course, weren't actually the size of grapefruits. Okay. The edit actually kind of threw me off. Because, at first I'm like, well, Champ, in that one picture, did very much look like a seahorse head. So, interesting. But, then they said that the eyes weren't actually grapefruit size.

[00:13:47] So, then it's like, okay, so were they smaller? Anyway. This one is interesting. Because, I'm assuming it's from Lake Champlain. Because, they said they were looking for Champ. Champ is described somewhat as looking somewhat horse-like in appearance. And, in that 2013, I believe. Maybe it was later. Maybe it was 2018 or something like that. In that photo where there's clearly a face staring back at those people.

[00:14:15] It does sort of look between a horse and a wolf, almost. So, this could be exactly what this person saw. The other thing that came to mind is the fact that this could have been like a floating toy or something that has been in the water. And, that's why it is that slimy green color covered in moss. And, it floats in the water maybe just below. And, that's what she saw. I don't know though.

[00:16:06] I'm Indonesian and I have a second-hand account story to tell you. My grandpa was born in Sumatra, even though his dad is Chinese immigrant. My grandpa pretty much lived there for his whole life. You see, the island of Sumatra has many thick and dense forests. And if I remember correctly, there are many parts still left unexplored. My grandpa was quite adventurous when he was younger.

[00:16:34] He often would go to the forest with his friends to hunt squirrels and other small wild animals. One day, my grandpa and his friends decided to go to another region in Sumatra and hunt in a more remote and unfamiliar forest. He said he got bored hunting in the same forest all the time.

[00:16:56] So, accompanied by his usual hunting friends, they hired a local guide and entered the forest. After hunting for squirrels all day, they realized they were lost. The local guide said he'd never seen that part of the forest they were in, which was weird because he made sure to stay in the area he was familiar with.

[00:17:20] My grandpa said it felt like they were hypnotized by unseen forces. And before they knew it, they ended up in an unfamiliar part of the forest. They tried to remain calm and assess the situation. And that's when they noticed it. Something was observing them from behind the bush. My grandpa said it looked like a hybrid between a human and a chimp.

[00:17:47] And it's kind of small, but as tall as an adult's waist. He couldn't explain it well because how weird that thing was. But he remembered one particular detail about the creature or thing. Its front foot were in reverse positions. So, when the creature walked, it looked like the creature was walking backwards.

[00:18:14] The creature noticed my grandpa's party, was aware of its presence, and walked away from the scene. Weirdly enough, the creature wasn't running at all. So, out of curiosity, the party decided to follow the creature.

[00:18:53] After walking for hours, they miraculously reached the end of the creature. Luckily enough, the creatures didn't follow them at all. It's up to you guys to believe me or not. But one thing I know for sure, my grandpa wasn't a liar. He kept telling us this story even after he reached a very old age. The story got me into cryptozoology. And, of course, I did some research on Orang Pendek.

[00:19:21] And some testimonies from natives across Sumatra were similar to my grandpa's. One thing I want to mention is the creatures speak some kind of unknown language. That's why the first time I heard Sierra sound, I got shivers all over my body. To think these creatures are intelligent is very exciting.

[00:19:49] Okay, now this one is cool. So, we've covered Orang Pendek before. The rock apes as well. So, when you get these creatures, we had so many testimonies from soldiers in Vietnam and those sort of warnings about these creatures. And it's interesting because this is the only Bigfoot species that is witnessed to have their feet on backwards, almost.

[00:20:18] So, basically, when they're walking forwards, their feet look like they're walking backwards because their toes are facing behind them. It definitely would have been some sort of survival instincts or something like that. So, it's definitely an interesting factor of this cryptid. But for this story, there's a couple key details that I really like. So, I really like that they didn't know they exited the part of the forest that they knew.

[00:20:47] And they said it felt like they were hypnotized. It definitely could be just that they got lost in the forest. Or is it possible that the Orang Pendek, or whatever they saw, is able to almost draw you in with their curiosity? Now, the other thing, of course, seeing the creature is wow. But it's so interesting that it just walked away to its herd or group and they were speaking a language.

[00:21:17] Now, we know from a lot of different Bigfoot species that they have their own sort of way of communicating. Whether that's tree knocks or whooping. But to have them literally be talking to each other is insane. So, this story has definitely gone to the top of the list, I think. Because, whoa, that's crazy. Okay, now let's go for this next one. Which is very recent.

[00:21:47] Because it was posted literally two days ago by the user testy underscore t. So, to set this story up, I grew up in central Pennsylvania and in a very specific area that's kind of known to feel creepy to outsiders. We've had mysterious disappearances, murders, plenty of drownings, cult sightings, constant suicides, etc.

[00:22:16] When I was 19, a couple years back, a friend and I both worked together. After work, we decided to hang out in town and go to our old elementary school, which was in a very woodsy area of the connecting town. It was one of those things where it's basically the same town, but half has another name. We were shooting basketballs and joking like usual and nothing weird happened, even though the area itself is very creepy.

[00:22:46] We just got bored of basketball, so we walked to the actual playground area. And behind it is a massive baseball field and a metal chain link fence. But, behind the fence is a really thick woods with an immediate drop, almost like a pit. And it goes into a low valley, but it's nothing but woods.

[00:23:11] We've been in there before playing manhunt, but there are sections that are just totally impossible to make it through. We walked to the edge of the woods just before it dips into the valley. And we were just joking about axe murderers and whatever else. And we suddenly heard a faint, hello, in the distance of the woods. It was the voice of a young girl.

[00:23:37] I immediately went into flight mode and yelled, Bye! Bye! And ran so fast back to the car as I started to tear up from the fear. We both drove back to his place and talked about it the rest of the night. About a week later, I told another friend about what my other friend and I heard the week previously. And he didn't believe me.

[00:24:01] So, just him and I went back to that exact spot and walked back to the edge of those woods. I started to feel like I was being watched from my right. So I told him to shine his phone light in my right. I was on his right. So all I saw was a dimly lit area and a part of my shadow, but nothing significant. I just shrugged it off and thought I was paranoid.

[00:24:28] But as we turned back, his phone light was still on, but facing in front of him. He was at the bank of where the woods suddenly dipped down. And in front of him were two trees. One directly in front of him. And one a few feet ahead of that one. I saw a pale figure behind the furthest one. And it resembled a human.

[00:24:59] I just saw the left shoulder, left side of the face, and everything else was either obscured by the tree or covered by the ground in front of it. It had sunken in dark eyes. That's all I could make out. But it was 100% human shaped. I just said in a normal talking volume, F is that? And then whatever the thing was crouched even lower,

[00:25:28] like it was scared or caught or something. And I yelled louder than I ever have in my life. And we both ran to my friend's car and sped off into town. Never saw that thing again. Now, my immediate thought that it was some person, a drug addict, hiding in the woods, because we heard about copper being stolen from a nearby car lot.

[00:25:54] But my friend had mentioned skinwalkers and pulled up a photo that looked identical as to how I described the creature. I also think it looks similar to the rake. If anyone has any clue as to what it could be, or if anyone has had similar encounters, please let me know. As a devout Christian, I swear to God that everything I said is 100% true and honest.

Okay, this one to me definitely sounds like a rake. Now we've covered that. It's the pale almost crawlers, which we haven't really covered. And they are sunken in almost emaciated creatures.

[00:27:50] Now it's kind of undetermined how they were created or why, because it sort of was internet lore that then sort of became real. But I mean, this sounds exactly like it. I don't really know what it would be doing there. Now, there is another cryptid that comes to mind that we haven't covered, which is now famous on TikTok specifically. It's called a mimic.

[00:28:18] Technically they don't have a body shape from my understanding, but they do imitate voices in order to get you to trust them or to let them in. And then bad things happen. So, it's definitely a future episode, stay tuned. But this is one of those sightings that really makes you terrified to go out into the woods, especially at night. Okay, we have one more story.

[00:28:44] And this one is a very fun one that I think a lot of you are really gonna like. It was posted by the user IHaveButterflies four years ago. Also, I should say, I don't really know why you're gonna like it so much because I haven't read it yet. But enjoy. My wife and I frequently go to a nearby National Wildlife Refuge where we walk our dogs.

[00:29:13] As we were driving, we saw an animal run across the road about 10 feet in front of us. We were going pretty slow because it's common to see wildlife along the road. I expected it to be a bird as there are pheasants and grouse in the area. But when I looked at its head, it didn't have a beak. It was smooth and rounded at the mouth. I looked over its body but didn't see any feathers.

[00:29:43] I looked at its tail because that would be a dead giveaway. But there were no feathers and the tail tapered to a tip. The tail was about as long as the rest of its body. And it ran with its head in line with its tail. I did not see any indication of wings along its body. It then ran into some tall grass.

[00:30:08] I didn't say anything because I had to have seen that wrong, right? But then my wife said something along the lines of, Did you see what I think I just saw? And I responded, Was that a small dinosaur? We described it back and forth to each other. We both agreed it was a darkish brown color. She immediately noticed the lack of feathers. But she also said she saw no wings.

[00:30:37] And that it had little arms bent in front of its body. It may be two feet long. We both are knowledgeable when it comes to wild animals and species identification. As it's a hobby of ours. And one of the reasons we frequent this refuge. I've had an intense interest of animals ever since I was a small child. I cannot explain what we saw.

[00:31:06] Every time we drive in that spot, I remember vividly what I saw. We both agree if the other hadn't been there, we would have thought we were going insane. I think to some degree, I think I must have because there is no logical explanation I can come up with. I've looked at so many photos of various bird and lizard species. And there is just no way. I have tried to convince myself I saw something else.

[00:31:35] But there is nothing that comes close enough. If anyone else has had a similar experience, I'd love to know. The only thing we can come up with is there was a glitch in the timeline. And I guess that somehow a species of dinosaur survived mass extinction and has remained unchanged and undetected until now. Which sounds even more unlikely than a glitch. Okay, whoa.

[00:32:04] I was starting to think like, wait, why are they going to like this one? And then the dinosaur came and I was like, oh yeah, that's why, that's why, that's why. Of course I skimmed these so I knew it was a dinosaur but I forgot. Anyway, this one's an interesting one. I was like a little unclear because he was talking about feathers but that was, there were no feathers and that was the only thing he was talking about. So I was like, wait, what? What are we looking at here? But then he said dinosaur and I was like, oh, okay. And the little arms in front. Now that's adorable.

[00:32:33] This could really be any kind of a velociraptor, even a T-Rex, but obviously a small one. Or this could really be some sort of glitch or timeline jump. I mean, there is a new movie coming out with Anne Hathaway and Obi-Wan Kenobi and I'm forgetting the name of it. But this is sort of the premise of it. It's that their neighborhood gets placed into this like Jurassic period and so they have to fight off dinosaurs.

[00:33:03] Maybe that's exactly what happened here. I mean, we know glitches in the Matrix and glitches in timeline do happen to some people. And it's one of my theories for why paranormal events occur. At least the hauntings that seem residual. But in this case, I don't know what they saw. I guess if it looked like a dinosaur, then it was a dinosaur or something similar. Because there's really no creatures that look like a dinosaur.

[00:33:33] Except for maybe lizards and stuff. But it seems like he looked that over. Especially ones that walk on two legs. So I don't know. But it's a good segue to our next week episode. And I'm not going to spoil it, but it does have to do with dinosaurs. So that's super fun. Now, that's all we got tonight. But I thank you so much for being here.
